Women’s Meditation, Tea and Conversation
First Sunday of each month | 10:30am – 12:30pm
We are a small, friendly group, welcoming all women who are interested in meditation and Buddhism.
We sit in silent meditation and then discuss Buddhist teachings over tea with the intention of building community to help support each other’s meditation/life practice. This is a peer-led group with a vision of everyone participating at the level that is most meaningful for them–for some it’s simply being present, others may be interested in reading a dedication of merit or bringing questions for the group on the theme.
Each month we talk about a different theme. Recent themes have included: generosity, gratitude, impermanence and kindness. We listen to talks and read articles from a variety of Buddhist traditions.
Here’s How We Spend the Time Together
-Silent meditation
-Tea break
-Group sharing on the monthly theme
-Journaling (a few minutes of writing/drawing on the theme)
Please bring paper/writing implement of choice
-Some time at the end to socialize
The Facilitator | Elizabeth Para
This is a peer-led, spiritual friends group. I have been practicing meditation and studying Buddhism with some consistency since 2012, mostly at Spirit Rock, Green Gulch and Berkeley Zen Centers. I am interested in learning and connecting regularly with others who have or would like to benefit from these teachings and practices.
