Welcome to the Meditation Revolution Videos and Readings

Changing how we care for ourselves…

for the benefit of all beings.

Guided Meditation Videos and Readings with narrator T. Sayler

Over the past 20 or so years there seems to be a slow but steady blossoming of societal acceptance of the benefits of meditations in Western culture. On many levels meditation is being more widely embraced as an easily accessible method to benefit physical health, mental health and spiritual development. A kind of revolution in thinking is happening—that doing nothing, being still and turning inward is an essential practice for taking care of ourselves and in turn others. “Breath into our own oxygen mask first.” as the saying goes.

My vision for Meditation Revolution videos is relatively new. The idea was inspired by the limitations the Covid pandemic placed on us all. Since we have been isolated physically, and I had to close my physical community meditation space, I was challenged. How can I support the practice of those who would usually attend my meditation sessions in person—particularly those who attended guided Yoga Nidra meditation. So I began leading guided meditation over Zoom. I started to record the guided meditations sessions and post them publicly for access by anyone at anytime. And so Meditation Revolution came into manifestation!

The goal— changing how we care for our selves, in this case through guided meditation, for the benefit of all beings.

I am passionate about spreading awareness and sharing the amazing benefits of meditation and the well being it can promote in our daily lives. You, the listeners are very important to me and I’d like to hear from you. These videos are meant to support your practice and enhance your well being. If you have comments or feedback about them, please let me know your thoughts. As a new subscriber, maybe you’d like to suggest a subject that really interests you for an up coming video.

It is my sincere wish that these videos are useful in your meditation practice and well-being.

In this reading we will get into a deeper understanding of stepping into the unknown, fears and the shadow side of spiritual practice. And we’ll see we can effectively work with and face our shadow side or suppressed emotions. We can learn how to uncover our unacknowledged fears, the parts of us we have disowned, and bring them into the light in a healthy way. We can learn to face our shadow with clarity and kindness. And in consideration of the current protest in the wake of George Floyd’s murder (posting this 6.2.2020) and the repression and brutality we are seeing in response to massive public demonstrations—the reading may bring a new perspective in understanding of our cultural and national demons and how we do or do not face them.

Goodwill Toward All Beings | Reading | 23 minutes | SEND A COMMENT
What does goodwill toward all beings mean? And sometimes is goodwill more appropriate than loving kindness? This reading takes a look at the Buddha’s words through a Buddhist monks interpretation to explore what it means to have goodwill and concludes that it means boundless friendliness. And it is a sincere wish that all find the causes of happiness on their own, independent of you. And finally a constant effort to do no harm to others. These phrases that are chanted by Buddhists capture the essence, ” May these beings, free from animosity, free from oppression, and free from trouble, look after themselves with ease.”

The subconscious is more suggestible when the body and mind are in a deeply relax state…an alpha brain wave state. This guided meditation is about reaching into the subconscious through relaxing completely. The steps of the mediation take you deep into the alpha brain wave state where the subconscious is more accessible. The source of much of our reactions and motivations are unknown to us, stored away from past experience. Because imagery is the language of the subconscious, the guided visualizations allow you to release old beliefs, wounding, and unconscious behaviors that are holding you back from your optimal well-being. Through visualizations you will plant the seeds of health, wellbeing and spiritual growth in the fertile soil of the subconscious. Buddhist Compassion Bodhisatva Vow | Reading | 13 minutes | Narrated by T. Sayler | SEND A COMMENT
This Meditation Revolution video is a short reading covering the subject of Buddhist Compassion and Bodhisatva Vow in the Zen Tradition. The bodhisattva vow describes, to some extent, a reality that we know is not possible—a cessation of all of the suffering in this world. At the same time, the vow affirms its own unachievability. We know it’s not possible to alleviate all of the distress and affliction in this world, but we vow to act as if it is possible to do so. The reading covers some practical application of how buddhist practitioner can approach the complicated nuances of different kinds of compassion. The reading is a prompt for the listener to think about and discuss Compassion. It is hoped that the listeners will share and engage in the comment section with their own thoughts about compassion and how it might open up new ways of being in the world.
